A$AP Rocky and PUMA hit the gas on their collaboration with the Straycat, an all-new model that moves the partnership beyond its previous archival remakes. The sneaker still fits the collaboration’s motorsports-meets-streetwear universe, but its construction gives it a distinctly tougher character. Layers of ripstop nylon, leather, and suede build out the upper, while chunky Vibram soles extend beneath the shoe, adding durability and grip while giving the silhouette the appearance of having its own tires.
The Straycat keeps a few familiar details from earlier Rocky x PUMA releases, including dirtied-up finishes and double lacing. Its motorsport influence also connects naturally to Rocky’s role as PUMA’s creative director for its F1 partnership and broader motorsports business. The sneaker is scheduled to release at select retailers including Asphaltgold and SVD on August 27.
