The Starbucks Mobile App Lets Users Skip the Line for Their Customized Drink

Thanks to the new Starbucks mobile app, people in the United States no longer have to dread the long line full of tired and angry strangers waiting for their morning jolt of caffeine. The mobile ordering app allows users to place their order, however specific it may be, before entering the store, which will then automatically skip the line and print out in front of the barista.

Whether you prefer soy, two percent or lactose-free milk, one pump of PSL flavor or four and chocolate, vanilla or cinnamon dusting -- all 80,000 possibilities are available to customize each beverage. The app displays users' most recent or favorite order, which local Starbucks is the least busy and how long the wait time will be.

The Starbucks mobile app will increase order accuracy as well as sales. The pilot program took place in Oregon last year and was a success, making its way across the nation, with big companies like McDonald's and Chipotle right behind them in launching mobile-ordering apps as well.
