Despite the modern sensibilities that the design betrays, these style-forward stacking benches are inspired by "mobile 19th-century furniture [that was] used for travel and expeditions." The collection is launched in collaboration between contemporary homeware brand TORTUGA and Shawn Maximo -- a Vancouver-born designer who is based in New York City.
The stacking benches are incredibly chic, versatile, and contemporary. They boast a plywood core. The aesthetics of the seating are brought into the luxurious as the furniture is complete with leather straps and buckles. Individuals can also add a little flayer to the design by fastening a cushion onto the top of the piece. The stacking benches are available at a price range between $428 USD and $726 USD.
