Light fixtures are as decorative as they are practical and the Sputnik Lamps strike a balance between the two beautifully. If it weren't for the light bulb at its core, the designs could easily be considered gorgeously crafted sculptures that would spruce up a home even if it didn't illuminate it. The intricate shades of the Sputnik Lamps were made using taut yarn in a variety of colors.
Designed by Julie Lansom, a designer and photographer based in Paris, France, the Sputnik Lamps are entirely made by hand. Not only do they range in color depending on the string used, they also take on different shapes according to the frame Lansom also creates. Whether hung from the ceiling or placed on a table, the designs are stunning.
