Sports Illustrated's latest cover aims to be its most immersive yet as it incorporates elements of augmented reality that allow the reader to imagine themselves as the issue's cover model.
With Snapchat and the app LifeVR, users can access this unique feature, which enables them to strike a pose, and meet a 3D rendering of this month's model, Danielle Herrington. This move serves as an example of the ways in which Sports Illustrated is aiming to appeal to a younger, tech savvy generation.
In addition to the AR-infusion, the brand has released two special lenses on Snapchat called "World Lens" and "Face Lens" which invites users to style their own magazine cover.
