Speedpass+ Helps Motorists Pay for Fuel and Car Washes

Across Esso brand gas stations in Canada, motorists may now use the Speedpass+ app as a way to pay at the pump for fuel or a car wash service, while also collecting loyalty points.

The app makes it possible for drivers to make the most of cloud-based technology and avoid "waving or tapping a smartphone at a pump or payment device," as fuel retailer Imperial Oil notes. The free-to-download Speedpass+ app can be linked with a variety of payment devices, including credit cards, Esso gift cards and more. When it comes to getting a receipt for one's payments, customers also have the option to get them directly at the pump, paperlessly via email, or both.

App users also have the ability to choose which loyalty program they would like their points to be added to: Esso Extra or Aeroplan Miles.
