smitharc architecture + interiors design the new Southwestern Residence located in Dallas, Texas. The home is built around a courtyard that is surrounded by a neighborhood of bungalows. The house is made for a private lifestyle with an indoor and outdoor space. It boasts a modern design language and is decorated with clerestory windows along the front roofline -- this is applied to give off the appearance that the roof is floating.
Although the home is built with a lot of glass materials, the strategic placement of the windows still ensures privacy. At the back of the house is a large covered patio with a functioning kitchen and open living spaces. The materials include a blend of "Texas limestone, western red cedar, ipe wood decking, concrete pavers, insulated glass, and white oak flooring."
