Music-Sharing Transmitted Speakers

Zhujun Pang Designs the SoundMotion Speaker Connecting Peers

Zhujun Pang designed the SoundMotion speaker, which is catered to couples who are long-distance as a streamlined way to connect through music. It integrates features including notifications, physical engagement, and more to bring a sense of closeness and foster intimacy in another medium.

The SoundMotion speaker approaches the experience from the user's perspective by blending music sharing with physical interactions as a response to foster more emotional communication. Notably, the speaker has a swinging motion which is the main way to show physical interaction and is a motion response that indicates new messages and represents a user coming online. This is inspired by the movement of a bell and also subtly hints at companionship to the synchronized audio experience.
