Zero Carbon City

Smith & Gill Design For Masdar City

The centerpiece of the world's first zero-carbon city, Masdar City, has been designed by a Chicago area firm, Adrian Smith & Gordon Gill.

Its 1.4 million square feet will generate more energy than it consumes. It will cost $300,000,000 and will use the world's largest integrated solar power station. It will also generate the power it needs to be built. Simply amazing.

Implications - The Zero Carbon City is perfectly positioned with the green movement. Eco-conscious citizens are increasingly making choices that are beneficial for the environment. Businesses that are seeking to capitalize on the movement should find ways of offering eco-friendly alternatives to established products or services; e.g. a sharing service.
