For this showroom in Milan, Carlo Moretti has fused the old with the new, taking inspiration from a store put together in the late 1970s.
The original store was located in Venice and called ''l’isola,' featuring basic materials and made using a backdrop of historic references to contrast the modern artwork on display. Having this backdrop really brings out the differences between where art came from, and just how far it has come in today's day and age. The designers behind this showroom in Milan tried to recreate this aesthetic, using sections of the wall for more historic purposes, with certain modern art pieces placed under specific lighting for dramatic effect. Overall, this modern Carlo Moretti showroom is an excellent display of artwork from both past decades and current times too. Photo Credits: designboom, carlomoretti
