Yesterday's warlords are today's CEOs and the Shield Collection by Vladimir Tomilov presents the modern alpha male with an assortment of furnishings to enhance his place of work. The designer has conceived a sideboard, a desk and a bookcase that marry elements of old design and new for a fresh line of furniture.
There are two workstations with a couple of differences. One has a wall at the back to block the view of the sitter's feet, and the other has greater storage capacity beneath the tabletop. Both have wings that can be drawn from the sides of the escritoires to increase the expanse of the work surface.
The cubby-style shelf and the elongated cabinet share the same old-fashioned spindly legs as the rest of the Shield Collection by Vladimir Tomilov. But sharp geometries and bold colors make the pieces remarkably contemporary.
