Data-Driven Movie Critiques

Rotten Tomatoes' 'See It/Skip It' is Airing on Facebook Watch

Rotten Tomatoes is one of the de facto sites through which movie fans judge whether a given picture is worth watching, and so the site is looking to bring its clout into different media with 'See It/Skip It,' a new web series airing on Facebook Watch. The series, which is hosted by film journalists Jacqueline Coley and Segun Oduolowu, does what its name suggests, highlighting the week's film releases and judging whether they're worth the trip to the theater.

Because Rotten Tomatoes has become such an important part of the film industry — the site's ratings have even made their way into TV and print ads for movies — it makes sense that it would look to leverage its expertise in alternative formats. While other sites and series devoted to film criticism rely on viewers trusting the opinion of a single writer or commentator, See It/Skip It bakes that trust and authority directly into the show.
