Offering a revamp on the traditional recipe for Scotch Eggs is this version by the I Am Food Blog, that combines two beloved pub food dishes into one. Rather than encasing the boiled egg in a meat filling, this version uses a mac and cheese breading layer to give the dish a vegetarian-appropriate alternative.

The dish is made first by putting together mac and cheese using Jalsberg. The noodles are specifically cooked to an al dente texture so that the noodles hold in the deep frying processes. Then cold boiled eggs are encased inside the macaroni and fried to create a crips exterior and soft, warm centre.
