It can be safely argued that most GPS mapping apps provide users with the most efficient route to any destination; but that is not the case with this scenic route map. Stopping to smell the roses has become a sentiment that many people are forgetting to indulge in as busy modern lifestyles take over their lives. Yet this app may help change that.

Developed by a team of Yahoo Labs researches based in Barcelona, Spain, the scenic route map is meant to "automatically suggest routes that are not only short, but also emotionally pleasant." The researchers elaborate further in a statement, "We rely on crowdsourced measurements of people's emotional experience of the city and use those measurements to propose new ways of recommending urban routes."
