Hand-Stitched Artisanal Sneakers

Sashiko Gals Hand-Stitched the New VEJA Sneakers

VEJA works in collaboration with Dover Street Market Ginza to introduce its latest sneaker models which have all been hand-stitched by Sashiko Gals. The French footwear brand launches the unique collection as the group of artisans specializes in repairing and customizing garments with historical methods.

There are ten limited pairs of the new 'Panenka' sneakers that are exclusive at Dover Street Market. The body of the shoe is designed with inspiration from vintage football shoes. It is detailed with the traditional Sashiko repair mode which dates as far back as the 8th century. This reinforced used garments and formed new shapes and thread colors. All of these are a part of the Clean, Repair, Collect initiative by VEJA.
