Adam Levine, the frontman of Maroon Five, and Sammy Hagar, the famous rockstar from the 80s, have teamed up with one another to release a new liquor brand called Santo Mezquila. If Mezquila doesn't sound familiar, don't be dismayed; Santo Mezquila is a blend of mezcal and tequila — the first such spirit ever produced.
Tequila has long been a popular alcohol, with a reputation for nights full of partying. Mezcal, on the other hand, enjoys a higher brow repute, with the Mexican liquor being the de rigueur favorite of craft liquor drinkers. By blending the two, Santo Mezquila hopes to find both a literal and figurative medium between the poles of those two drinks.
According to the website, the idea for Santo Mezquila was developed between Levine and Hagar during a night in Cabo San Lucas — a night befitting of the ethos of the brand.
