Developed by London-based design duo Bike and Behum Ayaskan, the Sand Clock is inspired by Zen gardens. As stated on the Studio Ayaskan website, "ripples of Time, allow natural materials to be shaped by time, reminding us of its presence." The creative twins captured their beliefs of time by creating this clock which displays the time with a gradual formation and flattening of a ripple pattern over a period of 12 hour cycles. The sand can also be replaced with water which presents time through concentric circles in the form of endless waves that ripple by the second.
