San Francisco's solar-powered stadium is in the works as it is planned to host the 34th America's Cup yacht race. America's Cup is defined as "the oldest currently awarded sporting trophy in the world and is the world's third largest sporting event."
Restoring two unused piers, the San Francisco solar-powered stadium features rainwater harvesting, a solar cell canopy, and a mast made from recycled wood. San Francisco's solar-powered stadium will surely be a major improvement for both the waterfronts, and for taking the right actions in going green.
Implications - The featured drawings of the arena look absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. There will be a huge screen placed outdoors, so that the crowd can easily see the race.
