Social Good Ready Meals

Sainsbury’s Italian Style Ready Meals Come in Several Varieties

The Sainsbury’s Italian style ready meals are headed to the grocer's participating locations in the UK as a series of delicious food options that will also support a good cause.

The meals are arriving through a partnership with Greencore that will help the brand to craft one-million fresh meals that will then be provided to FareShare for distribution. This will be achieved with 25p from every one of the meals sold at the retail level donated to the cause. The meals come in many varieties including Vegetable Lasagne, Tuna Pasta Melt, Tomato & Mozzarella Gnocchi and more.

Director of Fresh Food at Sainsbury's Richard Crampton spoke on the Sainsbury’s Italian style ready meals initiative saying, "We recognise the need for collaboration across the food industry to make significant change in addressing food insecurity. This is a focus of our ongoing work with Comic Relief and we’re delighted to be working with Greencore, a key supplier, to unlock this new way to help out and to provide good food for all. Together we can efficiently use our combined resources to donate fresh meals to those that need it most.”
