Minimal Upholstered Chair Designs

Philippe Malouin Designs the Sacha Chair for Resident

London-based designer Philippe Malouin designs the Sacha Chair for New Zealand design firm Resident. The furniture is entirely upholstered and he shared that his design concept is inspired by Resident's original expectations for a fully upholstered chair.

The designer wanted to go for a monochrome theme, using one single material with a consistent application from top to bottom. As a result, the Sacha Chair has a minimal geometric shape optimizing comfort and functionality. The Sacha is made with longevity in mind, made for lengthy sitting throughout dinner parties. It comes in five color options including Blue, Light Grey, Red, Yellow, and Dark Grey. All of these are made in the Hallingdal 65 fabric with the help of Kvadrat.
