Washington State’s Methow Valley, northeast of Seattle, is a cross-country skiing wonderland with a small herd of stylish winter lodges known as Rolling Huts.
Platform beds, wood-burning fireplaces and cozy kitchenettes make the wheeled cabins, designed by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects, comfortable and modern. Each hut also has portable toilet, but full bath facilities are available in a nearby barn. At just over $125 per night, the Rolling Huts are an affordable way to camp comfortably off the beaten path.
