Designer Tom Dixon created a line of tableware items from green forest marble entitled the Rock Series. The Rock Series sourced its beautifully green-hued marble straight from India and the collection is completely covered in unnatural brown seaming details. There is a selection of tableware including candle holders and serving platters in a variety of shapes and sizes. The pieces are interactive and can be stacked for simplistic storage options as well. In total, there are two sizes of the stackable candle holders and three differently shaped chopping boards and serving platters.
The cutting board and serving platter boast textural details on their grooved surfaces and the overall design aesthetic is inspired by Dixon's various trips to India, where he was able to observe the hand lathe workers there. This Rock Series aims to create minimal shapes that are playful as well, translating through its stackable elements.
