Topographic Wooden Coffee Tables

Prerna Panjwani Designs the Topographic Coffee Table

Prerna Panjwani designs a special Topographic coffee table that is inspired by the whimsical view of the Rock of Gibraltar. The shape is the most distinctive element as it looks like a ship resting in the ocean but it also brings attention to the geological history of the earth.

It is not as imposing as other mountainous forms making it optimal for a coffee table design. Dubbed the Vista coffee table, it is assembled by layering wooden rosewood panels that are carefully cut in the tough shapes of the Rock of Gibraltar. The layers are held together by a few sticks of wood -- this way, it creates visible gaps that lie between each step of the layers.
