The Roccapina chair looks like it is about to shift itself into another shape. It is made up of a patchwork of different wood pieces that create a pixelated aesthetic. Although it boasts such natural materials, its overall design seems inspired by technology, thus giving it an organic and futuristic appeal.
Designed by Ian Spencer and Cairn Young of Yard Sale Project, the Roccapina chair made its debut during Design Miami this past December. The Roccapina chair was made by hand, individually glued together to create its unique jagged back. According to the designers, this seat was "inspired by ideas of how the scientific understandings of chaos exists within nature" and specifically references Classical Greek proportions and Platonic Shapes.
