This Roadside Church Channels a Batman-Inspired Design

If you were driving by this abstract Batman-looking structure, I highly doubt you would have thought it was a roadside church because of its unique architectural design.

Located on the outskirts of Wilnsdorf, Germany, this awesome little roadside church looks like something from a blockbuster superhero movie with its Batman design. Designed by Frankfurt-based architectural firm Schneider+Schumacher, the Siegerland Motorway Church won the architectural firm first place with its abstract chapel design on a busy motorway.

"Whether approached from afar from the Dortmund direction, or from the motorway service area, the church represents a built version of the motorway church signage," says architect Michael Schumacher. "Even though its exterior form is abstract, it still signals in an immediate and direct way, ‘I am a church!’"

Honestly, whatever the inspiration behind the design, the first thing everyone will see is Batman’s pointed ears.
