The RMBA-20 Sequencer Was Showcased Outside an Iconic Berlin Club

As part of The Red Bull Music Academy's 20th edition, the energy drink lifestyle brand constructed the massive RMBA-20 sequencer. Designed as the world's largest step sequencer, this huge musical instrument was placed outside Berlin's iconic club Tresor for anyone to try out. The RMBA-20 sequencer was conceived and constructed by Berlin-based creative studio Neulant van Exel and required 30 technicians five weeks to assemble. The machine in total was 33 feet long, 7.2 feet high and weighed over 1,300 pounds.

Across the RMBA-20 sequencer were 427 knobs and faders, four analog drum machines, a modular synthesizer and a sampling unit. Unfortunately, the machine has already come and gone and Red Bull Music Academy has yet to announce if the machine will appear again.
