São Paulo, Brazil is no stranger to natural disasters, which is what makes architectural concepts like Rise by Mike Reyes necessary.
Designed as a modular pre-fabricated housing unit, Rise by Mike Reyes can be attached to existing buildings much in the same way that a parasite attaches to a host. In addition to being able to attach to buildings, however, Rise by MIke Reyes also features sustainable amenities such as solar power and water recycling which would help enable ravaged communities to recover from devastating natural disasters far more quickly. Furthermore, because the structures are pre-fabricated, they can easily and cheaply be transported to wherever they are needed at a moment's notice.
