Uber's New PIN Feature Provides Users with Enhanced Ride Hailing Security

Uber is launching a new ride verification solution, where the app will provide the user with a PIN code. This means that the ride will not start until the driver enters the PIN code that Uber provided them with. Uber users in the United States and Canada are able to toggle the feature in their app settings, and users also have to option to only use the ride verification tools for night trips.
Initially, Uber's PIN safety feature was only available to those enrolled in a pilot program that began in December. Overall the new feature builds on the existing safety measures on the app and provides another layer of security for Uber users.
