OAMC Launches New Sustainability-Focused Pillar, Re-Work

OAMC, an upcycling fashion label founded by designer Luke Meier, has announced the launch of 'Re: Work,' a new sustainability-focused initiative that aims to transform existing garments into new and contemporary pieces. In particular, the brand will utilize items and fabrics that would otherwise be discarded.
However, according to the company, Re: Work goes beyond just reusing an old garment; the brand will work to deconstruct old pieces back into their core fabrics and trims, from which it will repurpose them to create entirely new designs. For Re: Work's first collection, OAMC has reshaped and redyed old military clothing from the U.S., Czech Republic, and Italy to create all-new American field jacket liners and more.
“OAMC Re:Work will continue to explore both the aesthetic approach to reusing garments, as well as the development techniques that can help to reinvigorate vintage garments and fabrics. It is important that we use more sustainable approaches to design and product development, and we strongly believe that Re:Work is an important first step," said the company in a recent press statement.
