If you're interested in making friends, but unsure how to go about it, you might want to look into Reveal Chat.

The app allows users to communicate anonymously; as each party grows more comfortable, they are able to share more and more personal information. The idea was formed after CEO Nick Soman suffered from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a debilitating disorder that left him paralyzed for several months. During his illness, and recovery, Soman experienced an acute sense of loneliness. Talking to other hospital patients, Soman discovered that many of them were feeling the same way. He quickly became inspired, and Reveal Chat was born.

Soman hopes to facilitate authentic communication between people, improving overall well-being and happiness. Users control how much information they share, but each chat begins anonymously, with only gender, age and distance being displayed. The app is effectively the anti-Tinder, completely taking appearance out of the equation in order to encourage real, unbiased connection.
