Capcom Announced the Resident Evil 4 Remake with a Darker Tone

Capcom announced the latest game in its Resident Evil franchise titled 'Resident Evil 4.' This is a re-imagining of the original Resident Evil 4, which was released in January of 2005. This release follows the developer's re-imaginings of Resident Evil 2 from 2019 and Resident Evil 3 from 2020, respectively.

The game developer released a trailer to announce the new horror title. The trailer showcased iconic characters such as Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong facing similar situations to the original title. However, the trailer placed a much larger emphasis on horror and dark environments, whereas the original Resident Evil 4 was rather bright and had several comedic elements.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is releasing at an unconfirmed date in 2023. Capcom noted that it will be released on both PS5 and PC systems.
