Following their recent announcement that they will be adding driver-tipping app features, Uber will now allow you to request a ride for other people -- specifically the elderly and inebriated friends. Available as of today in more than 30 countries including in the Asian Pacific, the new feature lets you request a ride for loved ones from the Uber app.

When requesting a ride with Uber, you will no longer have to set your pickup as your current location. You will be able to pick a contact from your address book, set their destination and order a driver for them. The rider will receive a text message from their Uber driver.
