Recording Studio Cafes

The Songbyrd Record Cafe in Washington Has a Recording Booth

Recently opening its doors in Washington DC, the Songbyrd Record Cafe is a novel concept cafe fusing the laid back atmosphere of a local coffeeshop with the creativity of a recording studio. In addition to serving up high quality fair trade coffee, the Songbyrd Record Cafe is a vintage record store, sandwich shop and recording studio.

The unique record cafe boasts a 1947-style recording studio that infuses the space with an addictive, nostalgic energy. The 1947 Voice-o-Graph is one of the last in the US and resembles a phone booth.

The Songbyrd Record Cafe offers the option of creating a 45-rpm record for $15 that will run just over three minutes, which would serve as a great souvenir for those stopping by the cafe from out of town.
