The Jaç Hi-Fi Café draws inspiration from Japan’s jazz kissa bars, where the priority is the sound experience rather than background ambience. Designer Isern Serra translated that culture to Barcelona by merging café rituals with high-end audio. The café features a giant speaker-cabinet bar made of walnut and custom Bloom Island speakers built into furniture rather than hung on walls. Rich walnut tones and smooth beige microcement walls add warmth, while a curved seating zone under an arched ceiling forms an intimate nook for focused listening.
Lighting phases shift between social and quiet zones, encouraging guests to move from one to the other. Every surface and curve is composed with acoustics in mind, achieving a sound that is clean, present, and enveloping without overpowering speech or stifling relaxation. Jaç combines Barcelona’s café culture with Tokyo’s listening ethos to create a distinctive destination for music lovers.
