Alaska Airlines recently launched a massive rebranding effort in order to celebrate its expansion into 90 new markets. Rather than simply announcing the new changes, the brand is using the occasion to change its visual identity.
As part of its massive rebranding effort, Alaska Airlines will feature an updated visual design. Each airplane will boast an updated wordmark characterized by clean lines and smooth italics. The brand's name will be accompanied by a revamped version of the burly Alaskan icon, which has been updated with a streamlined design and bold colors that allude to different destinations. In addition to the visual changes, the airline will also be rolling out a refreshed website and mobile app so that more consumers can engage with the brand on the go.
While the changes are somewhat subtle, Alaska Airline's vice president of marketing Sangita Woerner, explains, "As we continue to grow, we are updating the outward expression of our brand so it shows up bolder wherever we fly."
