Hawaiian Airlines Unveils Kahuʻewai Plan For Holistic Travel

Hawaiian Airlines unveils the 'Kahuʻewai Hawai'i Investment Plan,' a $600 million, five-year initiative designed to elevate end-to-end guest journeys across its network. The strategy focuses on modernizing airport environments, overhauling digital touchpoints, and refreshing aircraft interiors to better support travelers and staff. As part of Alaska Airlines, the carrier framed the plan as a commitment to its local community while reinforcing safe, reliable service.

The rollout includes lobby and gate renovations at Honolulu, Līhu'e, Kahului, Kona, and Hilo airports to improve passenger flow and comfort, adding more seating and power access. In Honolulu’s Terminal 1, the airline will build a 10,600-square-foot premium lounge at the Mauka Concourse entrance for elevated pre-flight experiences. A modernized app and website launching this spring will streamline trip planning with self-service tools such as flight changes and award redemptions.

For Hawai'i residents, Hawaiian Airlines will boost engagement in its Huaka'i by Hawaiian loyalty program by offering a 50% bonus on Atmos Rewards and status points earned on Neighbor Island flights later this year.
