It may be a few years before the Qatar 2022 World Cup Stadium sees the light of day, but until that time people can enjoy the digital rendition of this amazing feat of architecture. Conceived by the almighty Zaha Hadid, who continues her winning streak for a prolific year of design, it is inspired by the dhow, a type of fishing boat frequently found in Al Wakrah’s harbors, which happens to be the city it will be constructed in.
Predictably futuristic, the Qatar 2022 World Cup Stadium is full of sweeping lines, which also takes into consideration Qatar’s blazing, arid climate. According to Hypebeast, it incorporates "a curved roof with a mechanical air conditioning system to keep spectators and players cool." Construction on the stadium is set to start next year.
