Perhaps the most interesting feature of this low-leveled concrete house in Chiang Mai, Thailand is that it incorporates a public alleyway in its design. Developed by architecture studio SO — also known as Situation-based Operation, the house integrates privacy with communal values.
The owner had possession of the plot for several years, but it wasn't until recently that he decided to make use of it. He was aware that people crossed this route as it represented a shortcut between places. In an attempt to maintain this strong relationship between his property and the local community, the owner commissioned SO to create an integrated public alleyway within his home.
