‘Prototyping the Domestic Environment' is Adaptable and

‘Prototyping the Domestic Environment’ is a project by students from the Rhode Island School of Design on exhibit at Salone del Mobile 2012 in Milan. This collection of contemporary furniture is redefining how individuals interact with and form their surroundings. The pieces are distinguished through their ability to adapt to a variety of style-oriented or function-based purposes.

The Spiral Stack is a particularly progressive installation; the room divider can be expanded and transformed into a multiple-person seating arrangement or a contemporary shelving unit.

Everything from Prototyping the Domestic Environment can adapt towards someone’s surroundings. Rather than having to purchase new furnishings to revamp your interior decor, this collection ensures that one can constantly shift around and transform their domestic space.
