Animated Grout Bags

Knauf's Grout Bags Are Really Products That Speak for Themselves

Companies always want to have a product that can speak for itself and in this case Knauf's tile grout really does. Grout is not one of those products that really stands out on its own, but with a boost from Hybrid Studio, Knauf's products definitely took center stage on the shelves of a hardware store.

The stunt involved actually creating animated bags of grout that could talk, move and dance, capturing the curiosity and interest of shoppers at the DIY store. The bags were animated with over 1,200 parts that required 56 hours of 3D printing and in total, about 150 hours to develop and prototype the animated bags. Although it's got to be costly and time-consuming, this is a fun and highly unusual thing to see at the hardware store.
