Modernized Industrial Facilities

Davood Boroojeni Office Developed a Process Department in Iran

Davood Boroojeni Office has completed the Process Department — an innovative industrial facility for the Shamim Polymer Factory in Eshtehard, Iran, that fundamentally rethinks the relationship between architectural intention and the lived reality of a workspace.

Davood Boroojeni Office's Process Department project originated from a unique premise — three years after finishing an initial production building for the client, the architects returned to find that the factory's daily operations had organically evolved in ways their original drawings never predicted, with workers establishing informal gathering spots, altering circulation routes, and giving new purpose to overlooked areas. Rather than viewing these unplanned adaptations as deviations to be corrected, the firm embraced them as valuable knowledge, leading to a design philosophy that prioritizes observation and responsiveness.

Adaptive Industrial Architecture
Factories shaped around observed worker behaviors create new value in flexible layouts, responsive circulation, and spaces that evolve with operational realities.
Human-centered Production Spaces
Workplace design grounded in informal gathering patterns and daily routines reveals potential for more productive, comfortable, and socially connected industrial environments.
Post-occupancy Design Feedback
Architectural processes that incorporate real-world use after completion introduce a more iterative model for refining facilities beyond the initial blueprint.

Industries Being Reshaped

Industrial Design
Manufacturers can benefit from facility concepts that treat worker adaptation as intelligence for improving efficiency, safety, and long-term usability.
Architecture
Design firms are finding new relevance in observation-led practice that transforms lived workplace behavior into practical spatial innovation.
Polymer Manufacturing
