Shipping Container Furniture Sets

Pro Forma is Inspired by Airplane Cargo Containers

Manhattan-based designers Rich Brilliant Willing have designed a new collection of furniture inspired by aircraft shipping containers. Dubbed Pro Forma, the collection is made up of a bookshelf, credenza, bar cabinet, end table and coffee table.

While the inspiration for Pro Forma isn't always obvious, certain pieces like the bar cabinet and coffee table stand out with due to their cavernous designs and perforated metal panels. Each piece is designed with maximum storage in mind, which is a nice touch considering the fact that nowadays, form is almost always put before function when it comes to furniture design. Pro Forma is currently being exhibited at the Volume Gallery in Chicago with no plans from Rich Brilliant Willing for a retail release.
