With the Way To Go! bars, Lidl is launching the first US private-label chocolate bars that directly support living incomes for cocoa farmers. The bars guarantee that farmers get "at least the Fairtrade Minimum Price for cocoa and the Fairtrade Premium, as well as an innovative second premium that helps farmers increase income, diversify into new categories and develop new farming techniques to increase yields and income over the long term."
The chocolate bars feature 100% traceable and sustainable Fairtrade cocoa that comes from Ghana's Kuapa Kokoo cooperative, and the products help to support one of the regions where a significant amount of the world's chocolate comes from. The Way To Go! bars are available in classic varieties like milk and dark, with packaging that visually details where the products come from.
