Talented artist Jonni Cheatwood's surrealist brushstroke printed portraits blur the lines between the absurd and reality. The magnificent art collection titled 'Grace Series' consists of a compilation of abstract inkjet prints splattered with multicolor splotches of paint. Cheatwood blends the original portrait with his paint making the two symbiotic.

The pieces are moving and the contrast between the black and white photo and the powerful paint palette is visually stunning. The brushstrokes alter on each piece and reveal more or less of the same face. The series maintains the anonymity of the subject and all that is revealed is the words "Grace" and "U.S. NAVY" on each pocket. These two words are powerful and the comparison and connection between the two of them are palpable.

Jonni Cheatwood's printed portraits doused in paint are mysterious, unifying and provoke intrinsic thoughts.
