The AirEnergy3D Can Fold Into a Backpack

When people think of wind turbines, they definitely don't think of portable wind turbines. After all, the traditional designs that rest on hilltops take Optimus Prime-sized trucks to transport just one blade. Yet AirEnergy3D is the portable wind turbine people have been waiting for. It boasts a small, foldable design that can easily fit into a backpack. Great from camping trips and survivor areas, it is capable of charging phones and laptops. It can also send electricity back into a household power system.

Designed by Omni3D, a studio based in Poznan, Poland, the portable wind turbine is made using 3D printing technology. Although the blade itself is still being refined, fully-working versions of the turbine will soon be donated to rural parts of Africa that are currently off the grid.
