The system maintains a mobile design that could be shifted around a hospital rather than contained inside a single room and requires less training to be performed. The machine has been tested as part of a collaboration between Yale School of Medicine and Harvard University researchers who performed scans on 50 patients at the Yale New Haven Hospital. The system proved to be 90% accurate at detecting brain blood clots related to ischemic stroke.
The Hyperfine portable MRI machine, while not as detailed in accuracy as full-scale systems, identifies a step towards more accessible methods of performing deep scans in a speedier manner.
