The Depressed Cake Shop is a new concept in pop-up bakeries that aims to raise awareness about depression and mental health issues. Founded in the UK, the bakery primarily sells grey-colored desserts that range from delicious cakes and cookies to French macarons that are adorned with clouds, sad faces and cry for help messages.
The sugary treats are unlike the traditional confection that boasts vibrant colors and charming adornments. Instead, these treats choose to focuses on the harsh reality that most individuals face every day.
The Depressed Cake Shop shares proceeds of their dessert sales with a charity of one's choice and is a concept founded by Emma Cakehead. Since its launch the shop has opened up countless pop-ups worldwide and has raised close to $50 000 for depression awareness.
