Recovery-Focused Wearable Technology

The New Polar Watch Can Advise Users on Rest

The next edition Polar Watch is able to advise users on recovery. The watch is titled the Polar Ignite, and it combines sleep data with training data to advise users on optimal performance. The recovery data used by the Polar watch can measure how much users have recovered from previous workouts. The watch implements an optical sensor, which can identify how well the autonomic nervous system is functioning. Data from the autonomic nervous system determines the user's recovery status.

Recovery data is able to be used in combination with the sleep tracker as well as the watch's FitSpark training app. The app provides users with daily guides to workouts based on previous workouts.

Other notable features on the Polar Ignite include breathing exercises, run metrics, food tracking and more.
