Es Devlin completes a poetic installation that is to appear in Trafalgar Square in mid-September. The public sculpture will be erected in conjunction with the London Design Festival. The structure boasts a fluorescent orange coat that is bound to immediately capture attention. Shaped like a lion, Es Delvin's poetic installation will be present amid the "four bronze relief statues that have stood at the base of Nelson's Column since 1867."
Not only is the artwork fierce and bold in its representation, Es Delvin puts a modern twist with an LED screen featured in the mouth of the statue. Using contemporary machine learning technology, the poetic installation will display verse that is "sourced predominantly from the period during which the original lions were cast."
