iTi Tropicals, a supplier of tropical fruit juice concentrates and purees, created plant-based stock and broth recipes that use coconut water as a base. According to the company, the use of coconut water creates a subtle flavor and it shares the benefits of hydrating, electrolyte-rich coconut water in a different way.
Unlike many soup stocks and broths that are heavy with sodium, the company's coconut water products are free from added sugars, cholesterol and fat, and the fact that coconut water naturally contains sodium eliminates the need for any more to be added.
A hearty coconut water-based broth can be made by combining the company's Frozen Coconut Water Concentrate with ingredients like carrots, celery, leeks and herbs with garlic cloves, onion and a few flavorful spices.
